2023-2024 By the Numbers

This year, the 2023-2024 Binghamton University LPP graduation rate was 93%. This achievement is remarkable in its own right, but it becomes even more significant when compared to New York State’s overall graduation rate of 84%. Our students’ success demonstrates the transformative power of targeted support and a community dedicated to their achievements.

So, how did our students achieve such a high level of success? Let’s take a closer look at the numbers behind their journey. Over the past year, we provided 6,693 hours of student advisement. These sessions offered tailored guidance and a safe space for students to navigate academic and personal challenges. Advisement was a cornerstone of our holistic approach, ensuring that students had the tools and confidence to succeed.

In addition, we dedicated 2,220 hours to mentoring. These connections gave students the encouragement and wisdom they needed to envision brighter futures. Mentors, or trusted adults, played a vital role in helping students build the resilience and life skills necessary for long-term success.

Academic immersion accounted for 2,194 hours, ensuring that students not only met but exceeded their educational goals. These immersive experiences solidified their understanding of key concepts, laying a strong foundation for future academic achievements.

Employment preparation received 1,849 hours of focus. Through workshops and hands-on learning opportunities, students gained the practical skills needed to enter the workforce with confidence. These sessions bridged the gap between classroom learning and real-world application, empowering students to take their first steps toward successful careers.

Finally, we spent 1,458 hours on service learning. These experiences connected students to their community and helped them understand the value of giving back. Service learning cultivated empathy and a sense of responsibility, providing essential life lessons while building leadership skills.
