Senior Showcase:  Binghamton High School

As the end of the school year approaches, our senior Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) students are eagerly preparing for the next exciting chapters of their lives. Whether they're heading to college, entering the workforce, or joining the military, these remarkable individuals are ready to make their mark on the world. Here’s an update on the seniors of Binghamton High School as they embark on the next phase of their journey:

This year, Binghamton High School's LPP proudly celebrates the graduation of 44 seniors. Among them is Ladaya Wilson, who ranks in the Top 25 of her class and will be attending Jacksonville University to pursue a degree in Nursing. Additionally, six of our seniors are set to become college athletes, and 15 will be attending SUNY schools this fall.  Eleven of our seniors have decided to further their education out of state at colleges and universities like Centenary University for Equestrian Management, St. Marys in Kansas State for Graphic Design, DePaul University for Communications, and Jacksonville State University for Nursing.  Three of our seniors will be serving our country in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.  BHS also has a number of seniors who have all obtained full time jobs after graduation, in fields such as diesel technician, plumbing and heating, and cosmetology.

On June 6th, we held our Senior Awards Night, a memorable event where four of our outstanding seniors received the Dr. Lee Scholarship Award. The students submitted essays detailing times they had overcome adversity and faced challenges, with topics ranging from self reflection and identity, societal pressures and expectations, and family dynamics to developing a growth mindset, gaining self-confidence, and confronting generational trauma. Each essay poignantly illustrated how Liberty Partnerships made a significant impact on their lives, helping them overcome these obstacles and guiding them toward future success.

At the beginning of the school year, our seniors are gifted a BHS Senior Liberty long-sleeve shirt. These shirts, worn with pride throughout the year, serve as a constant reminder of the strong support system they have within their Liberty team at the high school. Many students have shared that wearing this shirt symbolizes the encouragement and solidarity they feel as part of the Liberty community.

As the school year comes to a close, our seniors receive a green cord to wear at graduation. This cord represents not only their commitment to the Liberty Partnerships Program but also their entrance into the LPP Alumni Network. Walking across the stage with this cord is a powerful reminder that they are part of a family that will always support them.

The Liberty Partnerships Program is deeply committed to fostering academic success, personal growth, and a strong sense of community. By providing comprehensive support and encouragement, we empower our students to reach their full potential and make meaningful contributions to society. As these seniors step into the world, they carry with them the values and skills cultivated through LPP, ready to create a brighter future for themselves and others.

More pictures to follow after graduation, but here are a few of our outgoing seniors!
